Youth Awards Celebration

Celebrating school’s and sponsor’s accomplishments in energy education and leadership.  The Celebration is held the middle of May in Columbus, recognizing every school’s efforts.  The first place winner in each division competes in NEED’s national competition.  Ohio has experienced excellent success with many schools receiving “School of the Year” award.

Schools from throughout Ohio describe their year-long energy activities by creating Energy Portfolios, which are judged by experts from the energy field.

Five place winners are identified in each of these four age-group divisions:  Primary (grades K-3)  Intermediate (grades 4-6)  Junior (grades 7-8) Senior (grades 9-12)

"As we start a new school year I would like to thank you for all your support this past year. Thanks for sponsoring my trip to Washington, D.C.! The kids were so proud to be on stage and recognized at that level. You have helped to make memories that will last a lifetime for myself, and especially, our youth."
-- Steve Brickner, Harrison High School,
1st place, Senior Division
