energy sources blitz faqs
Q: When will I be notified if I am selected as a participant?
A: Registration will be open until March 23rd and you will be notified on March 24th. OEP will continue to accept applications after March 24th if spots are still available. You will receive a confirmation email from OEP within one week of your application.
Q: How do you select participants?
A: The Blitz is open to 3rd-12th grade Ohio science teachers. Past Energy Sources Tour participants are eligible to apply.
Q: What is the cost for the Energy Sources Blitz?
A: Transportation, meals and lodging (double occupancy) are FREE! If selected, you will be asked for a $50 deposit to hold your spot, but it will be returned at the end of the Blitz. Your deposit is only forfeited if you cancel 30 days or less prior to the trip departure date. PLEASE NOTE: The deposit is not due until you are accepted.
Q: Is graduate credit available?
A: Yes, one hour of graduate credit from Ashland University is available for $175.
Q: What time is the Blitz?
A: The first day of the Blitz is still be scheduled and will be announced soon. The second day of the Blitz will be from approximately 8:00a-6:00p for touring energy sites in the area.
Q: I live near the departure city. Do I have to stay at the hotel?
A: No. If you would prefer to stay at home that is fine. However, you must attend the evening session at the hotel in order to participate in the bus tour of energy sites.
Q: I would prefer not to ride the bus. Can I drive myself?
A: Due to security requirements and parking limitations at the sites, all participants will need to ride the bus.
